When Gareth Bale “escaped” Spain and the toxicity that plagued him at Real Madrid over the last couple of seasons, the hope was that he could revive his career with his boyhood club, Tottenham Hotspur. Instead, Bale is closer to retirement than he is to a comeback.
Newsflash Premier League fans! Gareth Bale was not benched at Real Madrid because he couldn’t speak Spanish! Zinedine Zidane did not rely on him for the same reason Jose Mourinho does not rely on him now.
He is not a good player anymore!
Listen, I am a Real Madrid fan and have been watching Bale closely since he joined the club in the summer of 2013. After Ronaldo’s departure – and even a few months prior – the Welsh international was struggling to maintain his form.
Injuries, injuries, and a lack of involvement in training has plummeted Bale’s career to a woeful low point.
Remember when Tottenham fans were gathered at the training ground to see Bale arrive in north London back in September? I can guarantee none of them want to see Bale’s name in the starting lineup or coming off the bench when the team needs a goal.
Mourinho is not holding back his feelings on the situation and has resorted to his confrontational press conferencing ways when questions about Bale come up.
“You don’t deserve an answer,” theTottenham boss saidwhen responding to a journalist’s question regarding Bale’s. And rumors have suggested that back in the summer transfer window that Mou was trying to block the move in favor of signing a new center back.
Bale hasplayed in sixof a possible 22 Premier League matches and has amassed just four goals in 15 total appearances.
Blame injuries, blame Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid, and blame Bale for his lack of desire to play the beautiful game like we know he can.
I think it is safe to say that Gareth Bale will not be playing for Tottenham this fall and will not be returning to Real Madrid either.
Since the UK left the European Union, Bale will not count as a European citizen for the La Liga roster moving forward. Instead, he will count towards the three international roster spots. And based off of the landscape of the current first-team, the Brazilian youngsters like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao will be taking those spots until they become Spanish citizens in a few years time.
Bale’s best bet from here might be a move to the United States and MLS where he would still be considered a star.
