BIG TEN, PAC-12, & ACC ANNOUNCE ALLIANCE

Oklahoma and Texas’ move to the SEC has sparked a revolution in college sports, as was predicted.Early in the week, the Big Ten, ACC, and Pac-12 announced that they would be forming an ‘alliance’ in the very near future. Thealliance will see the three powerful conferencescompete across all men’s and women’s sports and, “will be guided in all cases by a commitment to, and prioritization of, supporting student-athlete well-being, academic and athletic opportunities, experiences and diverse educational programming.” The alliance will not be a giant “super conference” but more of a partnership between the three that increases the value of all 41 schools that are part of the 3 conferences. The question now is, will the Big 12 be dissolved? Will the SEC look to add more teams? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!

RAVENS LOSE RB J.K. DOBBINS TO SEASON-ENDING INJURY

J.K. Dobbins will not play a regular-season game for Baltimore in 2021.In the preseason finale against the Washington Football Team, Dobbins was tackled low on a screen pass and tore his left ACL in the process. Theinjury is a huge blow to the second-year manout of Ohio State who was looking to build on a wonderful rookie campaign. The Ravens will now have to rely on Gus Edwards and Justice Hill to carry the load in the backfield behind Lamar Jackson.

GOLF: BMW CHAMPIONSHIP ENDS IN THRILLING PLAYOFF!

Patrick Cantlay ended what could have and very well should have been a historic four days for Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson scored an incredible -12 on Friday before shooting 67 (-5) and 66 (-6) over the weekend. However, a tournament -27 was not enough to get past Cantlay who also shot a -27. The tournament went down to a two-hole playoff that saw Cantlay winwith a birdie on the 18th.

I love the fans (and) I like playing for the fans, but we can’t have our fans against us.”Mets fans are well-known for their criticism of their team, but is this the right response from the players?

Shohei Ohtani became the first player in Los Angeles Angels history to register 40 home runs and 20 stolen basesin a season.

The New York Yankees saw their 13-game win streak halted by the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. The A’smanaged a 3-2 winto stop the Yankees’ longest winning streak in the last 60 years!

Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to Manchester United after a failed experiment in Italy with Juventus. The Portuguese star was last with United in 2009 before being sold to Real Madrid and now, he is back with the Reds! There were some rumors that Manchester City was in the running for the goalscorer,which forced United to jump in and win the race outright. Ronaldo will join the squad in a couple of weeks at the conclusion of the international break.

Lionel Messi made his PSG debut Sunday in a 2-0 win over Stade Reims. The former Barca man came onin the 66th minuteto replace Neymar Jr. and looked solid. Still feels weird seeing Messi in a different uniform and rocking the number 30!

Saturday’s match between Liverpool and Chelsea sure was thrilling!After Kai Havertz put the visiting Blues up 1-0 witha tremendous header, the lead vanished when a Reece James handball on the edge of goal saw the defender sent off and Mohammad Salah scored from the spot to tie the match. Despite being down a man for the entire second half, Chelsea managed to hold off the high-octane Liverpool attack to earn a draw.

ANDY RODDICK ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT

On this day in 2012,U.S. men’s tennis star Andy Roddick announced that he would retire from the sport following the U.S. Open. Roddick played professionally for 12 years posting an overall record of 612–213 with 32 career titles including one Grand Slam title in 2003. Andy was the face of American tennis for over a decade and was well-known for his hilarious on-court comments and his wicked fast serve which topped 155 mph!

Nashville SC forward Randall Leal put the game against Atlanta United out of reach over the weekend with this empty-net goal just before full-time, but how about this assist from goalkeeper Joe Willis?! The veteran MLS shot-stopper has NEVER had a direct assist on a goal until this and it is simply beautiful!
